The Old Drive golf simulator in Beeston

The Old Drive is the indoor golf room at Beeston Fields Golf Club, and it takes its name from the long driveway that leads up to the clubhouse. It is a charming touch for a room that used to hold two snooker tables and now houses two TrackMan iO simulators, a lovely example of an old club finding a new way to welcome golfers.

TrackMan iO is mounted overhead and reads both the ball and the club, so every swing comes back with a clear picture of what happened. You can play rounds on famous courses from around the world, or use the practice modes to work on driving, chipping, putting and everything in between. The venue also runs fun events and challenges, which is a nice way to bring a little friendly rivalry into a winter evening.

Coaching is a real strength here. The club's PGA professionals teach in the studio and give personal feedback, and there is club fitting too, using ball-flight tracking and swing analysis to help you find equipment that suits you. Elsewhere at the club, lessons can also make use of a SkyTrak simulator and video swing analysis, so improving golfers have plenty of tools to hand.
