At Daventry & District Golf Club, on Norton Road, The Golfzone runs the club's golf shop and an indoor simulator studio. It is a small, friendly set-up, the sort of place where a game on a famous course and a lesson with the professional sit side by side.

You hire the studio by the hour, and its software lets two to four of you play some of the best-known courses in the world, from Pebble Beach and Oakmont to Carnoustie, Royal Birkdale and Wentworth, or simply work through your bag and see how far each club really goes. The pricing is about as simple as it gets. Hiring the studio costs £25 an hour for a group of two to four, so four friends pay just over £6 each. Practising on your own is £17 an hour, and shorter 30-minute sessions are available too. Members of the golf club are offered preferential rates.

Coaching is a big part of what The Golfzone does. The PGA professional teaches here, indoors in the studio or out on the range, with video analysis and the launch monitor included in the lesson. A 30-minute lesson is £28 and an hour is £50, juniors get 40% off, and the shop offers custom club fitting as well.

The shop is open from 8.30am to 6pm every day, and the studio can be booked later than that by arrangement. There is no online booking, so you phone or email to arrange a time.
